Core Aeration

What is Core Aeration?
Core aeration can provide immense benefits for almost every lawn and is one of the best things that you can do to ensure thick and healthy grass. The core aeration process removes several 1 ½ inch - 2 inch turf plugs per square foot and places them on the surface of the lawn. This enables more water and air to enter the lawn, moistening the underlying soil and in turn alleviating soil compaction.
How is Core Aeration done?
The 4 Seasons Maintenance Team will perform core aeration for your property at anytime throughout the growing season (Spring, Summer, & Fall) provided your lawn is adequately moist. Our team will run our aerator across your property in a manner similar to a lawn mower. Due to a larger turning radius and larger overall size compared to a standard push mower, some areas that a mower can access may not be wholly accessible with the aerator.
Helpful Tips to Improve the Quality of your Aeration
To obtain the best core aeration results, ensure that your property is moist (but not soaking wet) upon the time our team arrives to perform the aeration. Consequently, if dry weather conditions precede the date of our arrival, water your property a day or so before our team arrives to moisten your soil.
Service Conditions
** It is important that you inform our team of any underground irrigation heads to ensure that they are not damaged during the aeration process.
